All Guests participating in a SegwayX2 Tour must:

  1. Sign a Release of Liability Waiver
  2. Receive the Mandatory Safety Orientation. This orientation includes a verbal description of the activities and a physical practice on the SegwayX2.
  3. Wear closed toes shoes and appropriate clothing.
  4. Carry emergency medication with them when (e.g. asthma inhalers, epi-pens, etc.)
  5. Wear a Scootin’ Kootenay Tours Helmet or guests may bring their own bicycle helmet after an inspection by Scootin’ Kootenay Tours Staff.
  6. Remove any objects from their bodies that may get caught or tangled in the activities.
  7. Tie back long hair.
  8. Meet the required weight restrictions (see below).
  9. Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the Segway Tour.
  10. Children 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperon on tour.

Restrictions

Weight

  • Weight restrictions are between 90 lbs and 260 lbs for Segway Tours. Weight limits are strictly enforced, and each guest may be weighed at check-in.

Age Restrictions (If under 19 years)

  • Guests 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperon on tour.
  • Guests under the age of 19 must have their waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian (Permanent / Temporary).
  • Waivers are signed through our digital waiver system. A link is provided in your Booking Confirmation.

Health & Physical Requirements

  • All guests must be capable of moderate physical activity and standing for long periods.
  • Guests must not have neck, back, shoulder, knee, ankle injuries, heart conditions, or recent surgeries.
  • Guests must not have balance issues. (e.g Vertico, Migraines, etc).
  • Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the SegwayX2 tour.
  • Guests must be physically and mentally capable of following instructions given by Scootin’ Kootenay Tours staff.

Tour includes

  • 1.5-hour tour (approximately) with one professionally trained guide.
  • Use of all necessary equipment.
  • Training session with a guide to learn how to use SegwayX2 throughout the tour.

Itinerary

  • Please arrive at our parking lot at least 20 minutes before tour time. This allows time for the walk from the parking lot to the main site, checking in, and signing waivers. Tours depart promptly.
  • Follow the signs to our base camp. Please stay on the designated pathways.
  • Check-in at our Basecamp (All guests must all sign a waiver to participate)
  • You will start with a short introduction video that explains the features of the SegwayX2, followed by 1 on 1 training with your Guide until each participant is comfortable driving the SegwayX2.
  • Next – Segway Tour! You’ll head out and explore 1000 acres of pristine Rocky Mountain Forests with your guide. The guide will provide interpretation of the local flora and fauna, and make some stops for photos with incredible views.
  • Back to Base-Camp and enjoy the rest of your day.

Things to Bring

  • Closed-toe shoes are required. Hiking boots or shoes recommended. Vibram FiveFingers, Crocs, water shoes, open-toed sandals, etc. are prohibited.
  • We recommend dressing comfortably for variable outdoor weather (such as pants or longer shorts) and bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and a light cover-up.
  •  Don’t forget your camera! Just make sure it has a strap for safety.

Check-In Requirements

  • Mandatory check-in 20 minutes prior to tour time at our basecamp, 7058 Hwy 95, 2.2KM North of Radium Hot Springs, BC. Tours depart promptly.
  • Late Arrivals – Tours depart at the time slot booked. If you are late for the tour departure you booked we will try to reschedule you based on availability. There is no guarantee of rescheduling and no refunds will be issued for guests who arrive late for their tour.
  • All guests must sign a waiver to participate.

1. Online Bookings/Phone Bookings

Once the transaction has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email. Please keep this email for reference. You do not need to print your confirmation when you arrive for your scheduled booking as we keep it on file.

2. Gift Certificates

Once the transaction has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email with your gift certificates. If you have not received your gift certificate via email after 3 business days, please send an email to info@scootinkoots.com

Please be sure to examine your order upon delivery to ensure that your order is correct. In the event that there are errors with your order, contact us within 48 hours of your purchase. Failure to inform us of the error represents your acceptance of the complete order in perfect condition.

Can I make changes after I place my order?

We cannot guarantee any changes to the order once it has been completed. Orders placed online or over the phone begin processing immediately in our system to ensure order fulfillment and shipping time. If the order must be changed, we will do our best to ensure you are fully satisfied. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Cancellation Policy

We are aware that this tour isn’t for everyone! If a participant completes the training course but does not want to continue on with the tour, a 50% refund will be allowed. If a participant departs on the tour and decides to stop midway, no refund will be allowed.

  • For a 100% refund, cancellations and changes must be made at least 48 hours prior to the tour date.
  • No refund for cancellations or reschedules within the last 48 hours prior to the tour date.
  • Late Arrivals – Tours depart at the time slot booked. If you are late for the tour departure you booked we will try to reschedule you based on availability. There is no guarantee of rescheduling and no refunds will be issued for guests who arrive late for their tour.
  • No-shows will be charged 100% fee.
  • Group Bookings of 10 or more are subject to a 7-day cancellation policy.
  • If you need to cancel due to illness or medical emergency, we require a doctor’s note from a local Invermere doctor/clinic in order to process a full refund.
  • All our tours operate RAIN OR SHINE. We do not refund for inclement weather unless the weather makes for an unsafe environment.
  • We will cancel tours in the event of lightning or thunder; we will reschedule your tour or refund up to 100% of the tour price if this occurs. The refund amount may be based on the proportion of the tour completed.
  • In high winds or other adverse conditions, Scootin Kootenay Tours reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tours, based on management’s assessment of conditions. We will reschedule your tour or refund up to 100% of the tour price if this occurs. The refund amount may be based on the proportion of the tour completed.

*Please be aware, we reserve the right refuse service in the following circumstances:*

  • Participants are found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Inappropriate behavior/language to staff or other guests
  • Anyone that does not meet our official weight restrictions

In any of these circumstances, a refund will not be permitted.
